Proud Winners Of World Travel Awards

Eagerly awaited finale of World Travel Awards was held recently in Doha, Qatar, in the presence of entertainers, celebrities, business chiefs and industry leaders. Hosted by La Cigale Hotel, this event presented more than 100 awards in various categories. It had nominees from different parts of the world with more specialist categories represented. Big names from the travel industry traveled from around the globe to be a part of this event. The guests of honor at the event were Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad al-Thani, the chairperson of Qatar Museums Authority, and Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulaziz al-Thani.

World Travel Awards
 World Travel Awards(WTA) was established in the year 1993 to recognize and reward excellence in all sectors of tourism. It would be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013, having come a long way over the years and being recognized globally. This annual program stages gala ceremonies across the globe to recognize successes within each key geographical region. Numerous individual votes are cast by travel professionals and consumers in different countries of the world. Regional winners compete against each other in a final round to decide who will emerge as a winner in WTA's world awards. Winners are announced on the night of WTA Grand final, which is held in the month of December.

Conrad Hotels, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Kuoni and Etihad Airways have always striven for excellence, and were some of the winners at this event. Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts won the award for World's Leading Hotel Brand, while JW Marriott Marquis Dubai bagged the World's Leading New Hotel award. The city of Paris won the title of World's Leading City Break Destination and Dubai was awarded the honor of World's Leading Destination. Etihad Airways was chosen as the World's Leading Airline by voters from different parts of the world for the fifth consecutive year
